Allosaurus was probably one of the most famous theropod dinosaurs. It had small horns over each eye that acted as shades against the sun. Apparently, there were about two species of Allosaurus:
This monster reached a size of about 7.6 meters (25 feet) long and a weight of about 3,000 kg (6,600 lbs).
- Allosaurus fragilis
- Allosaurus europaeus

It was Ferdinand Vandeveer Hayden (1829-1887) who first discovered the first Allosaurus bone in Grandby, Colorado. But guess what, it was a rancher named M. P Felch who found the first complete of Allosaurus in Colorado in 1883. Crazy, ain't it. I guess you don't have to be a paleontologist to be a paleontologist if you know what I mean.
