What was stegosaurus
Stegosaurus was the largest of the family of Stegosaurs as well as the most famous. It reached a length of about 8-9 meters (26-30 feet) long, about 2.75 meters (9 feet) tall, and weighed 3,100 kg (6,800 lbs).
Stegosaurus is recognized as being one of the least intelligent dinosaurs because it possesses the smallest brain-body ratio of any dinosaur, with a 70 gram brain inside a 3,100 kg body.

Discovery
Many Stegosaurus were uncovered around the United States, mainly Wyoming, Utah, and Colorado, as well as in some parts of Europe, India, China, Africa, and Su. The first fossils of Stegosaurus were found by M. P Felch in 1876. It was Othniel C. Marsh who named it "Stegosaurus" in 1877.
In 1992, Bryan Small, Tim Seeber, and Kenny Carpenter found the most complete Stegosaurus fossil ever. They named it Spike!
