Discovery
It was Charles Depert & J. Savornin who first uncovered the monster in the Continental Intercalaire of Algeria (Africa) in 1927. Originally it was thought to be a new species of Megalosaurus, but Ernst Stomer von Reichenbach changed the name to "Carcharodontosaurus" since it's teeth looked a little like a Shark's tooth.
Later, a few fossils were found in the Egyptian Baharija Formation of Egypt, but they were later destroyed during World War II.
